Alrick Davis...Class of 1981

The Class of 81 is pleased to create this Annual award in honour of our departed classmate, Alrick Davis, who left us in the summer of 2015. It will go to a chosen deserving candidate entering 6th Form each year.

Alrick entered Wolmers in 1976 and throughout the next 7 years, excelled in the classroom at a high level, including distinguishing himself at O’ and A’ Levels. He was simply one of the brightest minds to enter Wolmers’ hallowed halls during that period, always finishing at the top of the class.

He was a balanced student whose extracurriculars included Varsity Tennis and as the senior member and calming influence on the winning 1983 School’s Challenge Quiz team.

Leadership was also his strong suit, as a member of the prefect body and as Deputy Headboy. He commanded respect from an early age and had a knack for relating to everyone, even those whose intellect paled in comparison to his. He had a calm demeanour, was humble, and selfless. He also had a great sense of humour.

Alrick IS a Wolmerian and a great role model to those that knew him, and now to those that come after him.

Congratulations to Anthony Givans for being the first recipient of this Annual award.
