We start the new year with the good news that Commander John McFarlane has been selected as the next Custos of Saint Andrew and that Justice C. Dennis Morrison has been sworn in as the President of Jamaica’s Court of Appeal.  2 Wolmerians. 2 Men of integrity. 2 lives of exemplary service. 2 careers which epitomize our motto “AGE QUOD AGIS”.

Wolmerians All,

This evening we launched the Wolmer’s Hall of Fame and named our Auditorium which we had previously dedicated. It was fitting that the Douglas Orane Auditorium should be the site at which the launch took place and in which we recognised two living legends – Mrs. Sybil Francis and the Most Hon. Edward Seaga, and fourteen past stalwarts. “Fitting” because the Auditorium is itself the result of the work of many outstanding Wolmerians and friends of Wolmer’s led by Douglas, an outstanding Wolmerian son!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE INAUGURAL WOLMER’S HALL OF FAME CEREMONY – OCTOBER 2, 2015


The Wolmer’s Hall of Fame Ceremony took place on October 2, 2015. The 16 inaugural inductees were associated with Wolmer’s in the pre-World II era and were also role models of outstanding character, courage, leadership and innovativeness, attributes which reflect the values enshrined in our motto: Age Quod Agis. Another highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of The Douglas Orane Auditorium, a fitting tribute to a dedicated Wolmerian who led the charge to take the auditorium from dream to reality.

A Brief History

Wolmer’s Schools, established in 1729 are located in Kingston, Jamaica and consists of Wolmer’s Pre-School, Wolmer’s Prep School and two high schools Wolmer’s Girls’ School and Wolmer’s Boys’ School. The original school is the second oldest English speaking school in the Caribbean. The Wolmer’s Schools are considered among Jamaica’s most prestigious schools, with traditional British-style uniforms, a Christian ethos, and a firm disciplinary code.
